Nicolás Catena Zapata dared to plant vines where no one thought they would ripen. His high-altitude wine revolution culminated in the discovery of a new terroir for wine, the Adrianna Vineyard, at almost 5,000 feet elevation. This is how CATENA Zapata was born. Over the years, Nicolás Catena Zapata discovered the influence altitude has on fruit quality. Today, 3rd generation Nicolas Catena and his wines are synonymous with Argentine wine, having transformed Mendoza into a renowned wine region and elevated Malbec to a globally fashionable grape variety.

Joao Carlos Dantas sent us some amazing photos of his 48-hectare vineyard located in Alto Agrelo for “A Taste Of Excellence” article, that you can see below:

Family-run Estancia Rancho e’ Cuero, located deep inside the Andes Mountains, and Estancia El Totoral located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains have both been in the Palma family for over 250 years. Their doors have now been thrown open to offer one of a kind experiences to guests where they can enjoy activities such as horse riding, fly fishing and trekking in a vast and remote land surrounded by river valleys, meadows, and jagged cliffs. It has been a great pleasure to meet Analicia and Ricardo Palma, and to discuss about their paradise in the Andes mountains.
