The popularity of the game consoles, the Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) subscription market and the mobile platforms paved the way for app developers to create free, paid, and pay-per-feature games catered to a mass market. Ubisoft, one of the biggest gaming companies I have worked for, has 21,000 employees in offices and studios around the world who create high-quality games that resonate with all kinds of personalities, bring people together, and allow everyone to learn and grow while having fun. By exploring the video game industry, we get a glimpse at the creative process of designing astonishing worlds, the positive impact that video games have on education and how gaming can even assist the auto industry.

“I Used To Be A Dog” is a simple visual novel where your choices will affect the destiny of the main character. As Devor, the dog in the story, you get to interact with memories based on your conscience and discover what fate has in store for you at the end of the game. The gameplay is extremely easy, a press of the spacebar being all that it takes to begin and move through the lines of dialogue. With the help of the keyboard you get to use the left and right arrow keys to move and the up and down arrow keys to change your selection. Although the game might load on touchscreen devices, its controls were optimized for desktops.

Alexandria Attacks is an alien fighting shooter game where you can shoot incoming aliens & avoid their attack. The coins gathered during each level help purchase higher quality weapons and other base upgrades. The game has 30 stages including an epic boss battle. The walkthrough info can be easily found on the game’s page, together with the attributes for the guns. This was a truly addictive and competitive game to play, as the difficulty increases with each Level.

Farm Rescue is a an 80-stage bubble shooter game featuring very cute animals. The game is simple: all you have to do is to aim your bubbles at the stack and shoot to create 3 or more adjacent animals. The bubbles in sequence will fall together with any other bubbles which are only connected through them. Like all the games available on Plays.org, Farm Rescue can be played by both kids and adults.

Now the benefits of the video games have reached the education sector, transforming learning into an enjoyable activity, offering self-confidence by developing interpersonal skills, expanding knowledge across a variety of subjects (from history, geography and science to foreign languages) and helping people get active. But most importantly, video games offer the opportunity to create, experiment, and let your imagination run wild, from avatar customisation to fanart and cosplay events.
